Gestuz Textured Leather Cut Out Dress, available at ASOS.
This dress has me FLOORED; I love it! That said, oh why oh WHY is the price tag so steep?? The only way I can justify $465.45 is if I wear it daily, go to meetings, throw on some sneakers and run errands in it. This style is a perfect combination of my current obsessions: leather + cutout details. So chic, modern and sexy.
SO… I guess that dress pulled me out of a long hiatus! A short update: I’ve been building my business as an art director/graphic designer, pulling in new clients, juggling deadlines, driving myself nuts. Honestly, I don’t have much of a social life at the moment. But I’m happy to say that I landed a potentially big client this week! Perhaps the dress isn’t so far out of my reach, if I continue to hustle… ;P
Me on a recent trip in San Francisco. The glasses are H&M.
So… what started out as a little break has turned into an indefinite hiatus as I focus on my career as an art director. Truth be told, freelance does not equate more free time! But I can’t complain, I’m happy for the work.
A blog requires a lot of time and energy; I’m not one to do things half-assed, so shonshon8’s on hold. That said, I’ve been rethinking my blog and its focus. Once I’m ready to resume, it won’t be just a physical redesign but a streamlining of my content. I love fashion, but it’s only one of my many passions. I already covered other interests, but I’d like to make it more homogeneous. (After all, it is my blog and I can do whatever I want!) So dear readers, thanks for reading my posts; I’ll be in touch. 😉
Happy 2011! I hope everyone had a great start to the new year. Just wanted to show two type treatments I’m really loving…
I like the thread texture treatment they did with the font Balearic Thread. Very energetic and modern.
This font is called OTTO and it gives me the feeling of sexy, futuristic stilettos and an adventurous night ahead. Very elegant. Created by design studio Non-Format.
So… big news for me… After working as an art director and graphic designer at my current company for almost five years, I put in my two weeks notice on Friday. It is time for new challenges and adventures; I am pursuing freelance design. I am really excited about future prospects and already have some interesting projects in the works. The next
couple of weeks few months will be crazy as I transition into a new chapter of my life and may disappear for a moment. But I’m hoping one of the things I can get back to is working on my blog; this site needs a redesign!
Here’s a toast to making career moves and aiming for creative and personal fulfillment. Gotta be true to self. I’m ecstatic about this new change in my life; the possibilities are endless… Ready, set, GO!!
